    Put it on the site

    Your own site: create an account, save your site address, and paste one script tag before the closing body tag. Shopify: install the app and turn on the PopupGenius app embed in the theme editor.

    Describe it, or pick a template

    The first preview already uses your colors and fonts. Then type the change: swap the product, add a countdown, move the button. The preview updates as you chat. On a website you type its name, price and page. On Shopify the product comes from your catalog.

    Publish

    Shoppers see it on the next page load. When you edit a live popup later, they keep seeing the published version until you click Update.

    The storefront script is about 35 KB gzipped and loads deferred, so the page renders first.

  • Shopify: no theme edits

    PopupGenius ships as a theme app extension. It adds nothing to your theme files, and it leaves when you uninstall. It needs an Online Store 2.0 theme.

  • A website is one script tag

    Paste it once, in the footer, before the closing body tag. Remove that line and the popup is gone. You never re-copy it after editing a popup.

  • Leads you can delete

    Captured addresses are yours. On Shopify we handle the three mandatory privacy webhooks. Old lead data is purged on a retention schedule. Deleting a website account cancels its subscription first.

Each popup has its own on/off switch. On Shopify you can also switch the app embed off in the theme editor and leave the app installed.

How do I add PopupGenius to my website?
Create a free account at app.popupgenius.app, register your site address, and paste one script tag before the closing body tag. It works on WordPress, Webflow, WooCommerce or a site you built yourself. It is a script tag, not a plugin, so there is nothing to keep updated. Each account is one site, and the first draft already uses your site’s colors and fonts.
Do I need to design or write code?
No. The script tag is the only code, and you paste it once. Describe the popup, or start from numerous templates, and the preview updates as you chat. There is a Settings tab for the exact field when you want it. Add-to-cart and checkout triggers ask for a URL part or a CSS selector, once, on the Site page. Custom JS is the trigger meant for your own code.
Where do the emails I collect go?
To the Leads page in your account, with the popup, the page and the traffic source each one came from. Search them, download them as a CSV file, or have each new one forwarded to another app as it arrives. PopupGenius does not send email itself. It collects the addresses and hands them to the tool you already send from.
Where does the discount code come from?
From you. Create the code where your shop handles discounts, paste it in, and the popup shows it with a Copy button. PopupGenius does not generate codes. On Shopify an upsell can skip the code: PopupGenius creates an automatic discount named “Popup upsell discount”, so checkout charges the price the popup showed, including Shop Pay.
What do I get before I pay?
The Free plan needs no card and does not expire: one popup, one step, one A/B variant, 20 AI credits and 500 popup views a month, with a small PopupGenius mark on the popup. Paid plans are Starter $9.99, Growth $19.99 and Pro $39.99 a month. You choose one inside the app and pay by card. A website account has no trial. On Shopify each paid plan includes a 7-day free trial.
Can I edit a popup that is already live?
Yes. Changes to a published popup, including chat, settings, templates and the workflow, save as a draft. Visitors keep seeing the published version until you click Update. Your site picks it up on the next page load.
Will it slow my site down?
The script is about 35 KB gzipped and loads after the page. It is the one line you pasted: remove it and the popup is gone, with nothing left in your pages. On Shopify it is a theme app extension instead, so it does not edit theme files, and it leaves when you uninstall. It needs an Online Store 2.0 theme.
How do I cancel?
On a website, cancel from the Plan page. Your leads stay downloadable until you delete the account, and deleting it cancels the subscription first. On Shopify, cancel or switch plans from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling the app cancels the subscription too, leaves no theme code behind, and your leads stay in your Shopify customer list. PopupGenius does not charge a cancellation fee.
I have a Shopify store. What is different?
Install PopupGenius from the Shopify App Store instead of pasting a script, and turn on the PopupGenius app embed in the theme editor. The editor and the templates are the same. Shopify adds a button that puts a product from your catalog in the cart, a checkout that charges the price the popup showed, conditions for product pages, collections and the cart, and purchases and revenue on Analytics.
